"I can't handle this anymore!" "You know what, I'm gonna do what I want!" "We are supposed to be.." "Listen to me!" So now we're gonna break down the skills to defend ourselves from a front choke that comes at us from a perpetrator. So maybe we're walking by each other, this individual comes up and grabs me. Again, from a very basic standpoint, just the thumbs and forefingers around the throat. There's a couple different things we can do from here. If I don't think that I'm close enough to be able to deliver a knee strike to the genitals, I can bring my arms up, over, trap the hand, with an elbow strike to the chin, to the face, to the neck. Elbow strike. Elbow strike. Another opportunity would be if he grabbed me and then pulled me towards a bit, I could grab the arms here. Knee strike to the groin. Knee strike to the groin. Palm strike to the face, and then retreat. Now in this practice at home skill, the focus mitt sometimes works better than the thai pad. If all you have is a thai pad it'll work as well. But our goal here, now, as we bring our arms up and sweep both arms away, we hold their hands here as we bring our elbow up. Bring our elbow up. This target mitt is really their face now. Then as we turn, you can have your training partner move their face out of the way. This becomes the face for a heel strike. Heel strike. So again, to practice, here strip the arms away. Elbow. Elbow. Heel. Heel.
When an aggressor grabs you around the neck from the front, you have a couple of different things you could do. Grab the aggressor's wrists, pull down and deliver a knee strike to the genitals. You may also be able to bring your arms up and over, trapping his hands, and deliver a palm strike to the face.
