Now let's talk about how proper nutrition plays an important part on keeping our backs safe in manual lifting. You know one of the things that we tend to do is dehydrate and we don't even realize it. We do not drink on average enough water to stay hydrated so that we have the proper amount of liquid within our vertebral disks so that they stay full, cushiony, and help to lubricate the vertebrae as they move and shift and turn while lifting, twisting, bending, and doing our ordinary life let alone when we're working and lifting objects. The other part is that if we're not eating the proper nutrients with good proteins, complex carbohydrates we're not gonna have the muscular strength to be able to lift objects properly and therefore it turns out to be a leverage issue because what we can't do with strength using proper muscle we're going to have to leverage using joints, tendons, ligaments, and things that are not supposed to be used when lifting objects. It's gonna be vital that we get somewhere between six and eight glasses of water a day. If it's hot, humid, and we're working hard and sweating or maybe we're fighting a cold where we're breathing a lot of moisture out while we're mouth breathing and not nose breathing we may wanna even increase those glasses of water to another one or two on top of the six to eight glasses a day. It's gonna be vital that we get the proper rest. Rest at least between seven and eight hours a night so that we can allow our muscle structures to rest and be able to compensate for when we have to actually lift objects appropriately.
Proper nutrition plays a large role in how much the body can handle. It is important to drink enough water (6-8 glasses a day), eat proper food with the right balance of proteins and carbohydrates, and get a full amount of rest so the body can compensate to lift appropriately.
