To create and schedule a classroom course, first log into the Instructor Dashboard. You will immediately be brought to the “Manage Classrooms” section of the Classroom Center. This is where you can search for existing classes that you’ve built. To build a new class, click “Create Classroom.” Fill out the required fields. You’ll need to enter the type of course being offered, the course’s start and end date, and the time for the class. Name the class with a unique identifier, such as the name of a company that you’re teaching, or “Open BLS Class.” Really this can be anything that will help you to differentiate between the other courses you teach. It’s not necessary to re-enter the certification being offered or the date of the class, as those items will also be listed in your list of classes. If you have multiple instructors teaching for your company, you’ll need to make sure you list the instructor who will be leading that class. The capacity field is the maximum capacity for a classroom. You will not be able to add any more students once the capacity is met. Enter the number of people you are able to fit into your classroom rather than how many you think will be part of the class. It is okay if your class is not filled to capacity. ProTrainings strongly recommends limiting a CPR class size to twelve students unless you have other instructors or skill evaluators assisting. List the cost you’re charging per student—this will appear on a special signup page that you can link to on your own website. If this course is for internal employees, simply type “0” in this field. You can also list any additional details you want displayed on the special signup page, such as whether or not lunch will be provided, public transit information, a reminder to wear comfortable clothing, that the course takes place over the course of two Saturdays, that a classroom is on the second floor, etc. Don’t list info contained in the other fields above. Check the “Client Info” box if you wish to enter contact information for a client you would like to keep track of who you are teaching this class for so that you can contact them again for future classes and so forth. Be sure to enter in the address of the class location, which, again, is displayed on the special signup page. These addresses will be saved for later use so you don’t have to re-enter them in the future. Addresses can be edited or deleted in the “Class Locations” section of the Classroom Center. As a ProTrainings Instructor, you can choose one of three options on how student certificates are mailed. By default, ProTrainings mails each student their certificates directly to their own home. This is a great option if teaching public classes and each student pays for their own class. To have certificates mailed to each student directly, enter their mailing address when registering each student. If students are signing themselves up for your class, they can enter their own mailing address so that you won’t have to. ProTrainings can mail all certificates for a particular class to one address, such as the address of a company whose employees you’re teaching, or your own address if you intend to distribute student certificates. For this option, check “Use Alternate Address” and enter the mailing address here. The last option is to always have all certificates for classes you teach mailed directly to one address. If you’d like to enable a single mailing address for all of your classes you may either manually enter it as an alternative address each time you build the class, or if you would never want cards mailed directly to students, you may do so under the “account settings” by going to “manage companies.” Edit your account by clicking the yellow pencil, check “Mail certification cards directly to the company,” and then enter your preferred mailing address. As an instructor, you’ll never have to purchase blank card stock or fill out, replace, or mail certificates, as ProTrainings will handle this for you. If you attempt to mark a student as passed but don’t have an address entered for the student at that time, the system will prevent you from passing them and ask you to enter in a mailing preference for that student. Once you’ve created the class, you can edit the details of the class under the “manage classrooms” section of the classroom center.
