At some point in the past, a myth was started and spread that you could determine the wellness of your pet based on the temperature or moisture level of her noise. And unfortunately, this just isn't true. However, there are a lot of things that you can monitor and recognize at home to know when your pet is not doing well. In this next section of videos, we're going to talk about the things you can monitor at home to assess your pet's wellness. We're also going to talk about some of the times when you can provide first aid at home, either before transporting to a vet or to allow safe transport. Finally, we're going to talk about when you need to escalate quickly - at what times is it truly an emergency and you need to seek immediate veterinary care versus other times when maybe you can wait and schedule an appointment with your veterinarian.
In this next section of your pet first aid course, we’re going to cover many illnesses and symptoms that you can monitor at home. Doing so to the best of your ability will help you recognize a problem early when your pet isn’t feeling well or an emergency in which you’ll need to act quickly. At the end of the lesson, we’ll provide you with a Word about using hydrogen peroxide on your pets.
