  • Child Care Providers in North Dakota are required to have an Adult, Child, and Infant Pediatric CPR, AED and First Aid certification.
  • The North Dakota Department of Human Services, Early Childhood Services requires a cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certification and First Aid for licensing. Required training should include; Adult, Child, Infant (Pediatric) CPR, AED, and First Aid.
  • A practical (hands-on) skills component is required by the state or by your Child Care facility to maintain employment.
  • Most employers will require a Lay Rescuer CPR, AED, and First Aid certification for all ages.

A 100% online CPR will only be an option upon the discretion of the employer. 75-03-10-12. Minimum qualifications for all staff members responsible for caring for or teaching children.
1. Staff members:
d. Shall be currently certified within ninety days of employment and prior to staff member having unsupervised access to children under care, in infant and pediatric cardiopulmonary resuscitation and the use of an automated external defibrillator by the American heart association, American red cross, or other similar cardiopulmonary resuscitation and automated external defibrillator training programs that are approved by the department;
