  • Child Care Providers in Connecticut are required to have an Adult, Child, and Infant Pediatric CPR, AED and First Aid certification.
  • The Connecticut Office of Early Childhood requires a cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certification and First Aid for licensing. Required training should include; Adult, Child, Infant (Pediatric) CPR, AED, and First Aid.
  • A practical (hands-on) skills component is required by the state or by your Child Care facility or Day Care center to maintain employment.
  • Most employers will require a Lay Rescuer CPR, AED, and First Aid certification for all ages.

Delivery Method

Child Care Providers in Connecticut are required to maintain Adult, Child, Infant (Pediatric) CPR, AED and First Aid that includes a practical skills evaluation through in person or blended training process. A 100% online CPR will only be an option upon the discretion of the employer. (e) (1) At all times the child day care center is in operation there shall be present at least one (1) staff member who has current certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in accordance with section 19a-79 of the Connecticut General Statutes, appropriate for all of the children served at the child day care center.
