Nationally Accredited CPR Courses

It’s a little-known fact that there is no national accrediting body for adult CPR and first aid training and certification. That means you can get your certification from any qualified organization, including the American Heart Association or the Red Cross.

However, students who have tried other certification organizations prefer us for our versatility, accessibility, and ease of certification and renewal. At ProTrainings, we provide legitimate, quality training that adheres to the ILCOR/AHA guidelines and is approved by numerous third-party accrediting organizations and 99% of employers.

What's in a Typical CPR & First Aid Course?

CPR and first aid courses teach all of the necessary knowledge and emergency preparedness skills one needs in the most common life-threatening situations.

CPR training focuses on sustaining life in the event of a heart attack, stroke, drowning, and other circumstances in which a person may stop breathing. First aid training focuses on providing care for medical emergencies that can occur in everyday settings.

Who Needs a CPR First Aid Course?

A common question professionals ask is, “do you need CPR, First aid, or both?” In most cases, this depends on the requirements of your employer or where you work.

Often when there is an increased risk for injury in your workplace, then first aid will be required along with CPR training. For example, workplaces that can add risk of injury are construction sites, factories, daycares, or any work outdoors.

In cases where a professional works in one of these environments, it’s helpful to know how to provide first aid if a coworker or bystander needs assistance.

CPR & First Aid Certification Online Frequently Asked Questions

Can you get your CPR and first aid certification online?

YES! Online CPR and first aid certification allows you to learn on your own time so you can master the necessary skills before taking the certification exam. Our courses give you access to all the information, the exam, and the certification.

In today's busy world, finding the time to go to an in-person certification class can be difficult. Taking advantage of CPR and first aid online certification is a great way to learn these valuable skills and earn the certification necessary to demonstrate to others that you have mastered the skills. We do so much online, why should gaining new skills like CPR and first aid be any different?

With our CPR and first aid online certification, it has never been easier to get certified in CPR and first aid skills.

What is the difference between CPR and first aid courses?

Online CPR and first aid certification courses teach the skills necessary to care for someone who has been injured or has suffered a medical emergency.

CPR is one of the most vital life-saving skills someone can have. CPR is typically used when someone stops breathing, such as in the case of a heart attack, stroke, or drowning – and can help to resuscitate the person or sustain life until emergency personnel arrives.

First aid, on the other hand, applies to helping someone who has been wounded. First aid training will teach you skills such as how to stop bleeding, how to handle head, neck, or back injuries, and how to handle poisoning, burns, allergic reactions, and more.

The good news is that most of our first aid courses provide access to CPR training. If you are interested only in CPR training, then our CPR-only courses will suit your needs. Our online CPR and first aid certification programs all provide you with everything you need to learn and become certified.

Is CPR and first aid training hard?

Everyone’s perception of what’s difficult or easy is different, so only you can make that judgment for yourself. However, at ProTrainings, we have spent years honing our online first aid and CPR certification programs to make them as digestible and accessible as possible.

All of our course modules are broken down into bite-sized lessons so you can take it one step at a time or binge-study, if you prefer. You also have unlimited attempts to pass the CPR exam. Our goal is your success. Whatever path you choose to or need to take to achieve it is up to you – and we support you!

Does first aid training include CPR?

CPR focuses on training you how to maintain the flow of oxygen to the brain during a cardiac arrest while waiting for paramedics. First aid most often refers to a broader range of skills that enable you to offer initial help if someone is injured.

Most often, a first aid course will not automatically include CPR training. If CPR is not explicitly stated as being a part of the course, it is very likely that the course will not go over this skill. While CPR is a very valuable skill to learn, this doesn’t mean that a first aid only course isn’t worth taking. In fact, situations to apply first aid happen far more frequently than situations where you need to apply CPR.

If you need to take a course that includes CPR for work or just want to make sure you learn both skills. Make sure to look for a course name that includes CPR and First Aid certification.
